Late Iranian cinematographer Reza Sheikhi, renowned for his visuals in iFilm series ‘Injury’ and ‘Little Engineer’, has left behind a legacy of cinematic brilliance.

His journey in the realm of film began as an assistant to Mehrdad Fakhimi, where he lent his expertise to some notable projects, including ‘Passengers’, ‘The Little Bird of Happiness’, and ‘Autumn’.

Sheikhi’s ascent as a cinematographer burgeoned in the early 2000s with Sepideh Farsi’s ‘Gaze’, marking the beginning of a remarkable career.

Throughout his tenure, Sheikhi’s artistic vision graced both the big and small screens.

From ‘Tropical Flowers’ and 'Leila's Loneliness' to ‘Crystal’, ‘Underwater’, ‘Displaced’ and ‘Salve’, Sheikhi’s cinematography breathed life into narratives, earning critical acclaim and audience admiration alike.

Notably, his work on ‘Salve’ garnered significant attention, affirming his prowess behind the lens.

Sheikhi’s final contribution to cinema, as a cameraman in filming of ‘Intoxicated Narges’, stands as a testament to his dedication to the profession.

With profound sadness, Sheikhi bid farewell on April 29, 2024, after a battle with cancer.

His absence leaves a void in the world of cinematography, but his enduring impact will continue to inspire generations of filmmakers to come.
